My name is Taylor Lea Brown. I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I have loved both art and animals since I can remember. I have been creating art prolifically since I was six and I have been petting cats and dogs since I first gained the motor skills to do so.

I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art from Hendrix College in Conway, AR in 2011 with a minor in Psychology. Shortly thereafter I went to school to obtain my veterinary technician license and have been working as an emergency vet tech for several years.

I moved to Albuquerque in March of 2019 and continued working as a vet tech at a large hospital. In October 2019 I spun off the road on I-40 and a few minutes later was hit by a semi-truck that spun out of control as I did. I thought I was going to die. I didn’t. I wasn’t injured. My car had minimal damage. The driver of the semi was fine too. I send him Christmas cards now.

In February of 2020 an old college-mate who was a fellow artist passed away. She was only 29. Her picture hangs on my fridge. At this point in time I had barely done any art in the past few years.

In March 2020 I almost quit my job. In April 2020 I learned how serious Covid-19 was. In June 2020 I quit my job. In July 2020 my 18 year old cat who I’d had since I was in eighth grade died. In January 2021 I started this website.

In 2022 I will be applying to grad school in the hopes of obtaining my Master’s in I’m not sure exactly what yet. In the mean time I think I’ll do some art and pet some animals.
