Lang family portrait

This portrait was commissioned by a friend shortly after her and her husband’s Great Pyrenees passed away. Being that I was in another state I had to improvise and use a variety of photos of each family member, use my own animals as models, and some stock photos to help with perspective in order to create the complete image you see here. In this gallery you will see many photos I took during the process. You’ll see some details and some sketches that ended being drastically different in the final product. The piece is three by four feet and was done with charcoal and pastels on paper.
